Lady Gowrie Swansea Child Centre

Lady Gowrie Tasmania commenced management of the Swansea service in July 2008.   The Centre was previously operated by the Glamorgan/Spring Bay Council.

The Centre is centrally located in the Swansea town ship with the renowned Hazards at Freycinet reflecting in the waters adjacent to the Centre. This purpose built Centre supports the care and education of children not only in the local area but welcomes children into care who may be visiting the area during holiday periods. 

The Centre employs qualified and experienced early childhood staff. The Centre is licensed under the Department of Education Child Care Unit Standards and is accredited under the National Child Care Accreditation Council Quality Improvement and Accreditation System.

Operational details

The Centre offers full-time, regular part time care and casual care for children from birth to five years in the long day care program for 51 weeks of the year.  During school terms and vacation periods after school care and vacation care is provided for children six to twelve years of age.  The hours are detailed below:

8:30am to 5:30pm   (long day care and vacation care)
3.00pm to 5.30pm   (after school care)
Daily, short days, morning and afternoon sessions are available.
Child Care Benefit is also available to eligible families.

The Centre is closed between Christmas and the New Year and on gazetted public holidays.

Meals/Snacks

Families provide all meals and snacks for their child.

SPRING BAY CHILD CARE CENTRE

The Centre is licensed for 20 places, catering for newborns to 12 years of age.  It is staffed by a team of professional early learning specialists who have an extensive background in working with children.

The days routine varies, but is based around outdoor (weather permitting) and indoor play (including story telling, puzzles, art and craft, cooking etc) with a wide and varied selection of activities all catering to your child's age and stage of development.

The Centre provides an opportunity for your children to learn, share, interact and play with other children of a similar age, whilst being motivated to develop at their own pace.

Aims

It is the aim of the Spring Bay Child Care Centre to provide a warm and caring environment in which your child can be assured of quality care, in a premise licensed by the Department of Education, in order to achieve objectives in the areas of social, emotional, physical, language and cognitive development.

Bookings can be made by contacting the Centre during business hours on 6257 3598.  You may leave a message on the Centre's answering machine after hours and a staff member will call you back the next working day.

Spring Bay Child Care Centre Inc. charges for care by the session.  Discounts are available for Health Care and Pension Card holders.

Child Care Benefit - Registered Care

The Centre is registered with the Family Assistance Office to offer the rebate for parents that are either working or studying.
