PENSIONER REMISSION'S

The Glamorgan Spring Bay Council offers a pension remission to eligible pension holders within the Municipality.

To be eligible for the 2008-2009 financial year you must be a current pension card holder or health care card with a card issued date being on or before the 1st July 2008. The card must be a Pensioner Concession Card, the blue card issued by the Commonwealth Government, or alternatively the Gold TPI card issued by the Department of Veteran Affairs.

The other criteria is that the property you will be claiming the pension remission on is your principal place of residence, ie: your only place of occupancy.

If you feel you are eligible you may download the appropriate form to complete, and return to Council, where you must present your card to the Council representative. This must be done in person.

You will note that the form asks you to sign the declaration to enable the Department of Treasury and Finance to check records with other Government agencies, this is only to validate the information given on your application, and your eligibility.

The remission given by Council is 30% of General Rates and service charges, excluding fire levy.
