Welcome to Glamorgan Spring Bay Council

Glamorgan Spring Bay Council encompasses the towns of Buckland, Orford, Maria Island, Triabunna, Swansea, Bicheno and Coles Bay areas of the beautiful east coast of Tasmania, Australia.

Our vision is to be a welcoming community with quality lifestyles supporting dynamic progress consistent with the objectives of sustainable development and natural resource management.

The municipality stretches along the coast and encompasses the iconic 'Freycinet National Park' and 'The Hazards'.

Strategic land use plan for the East Coast

The Break O' Day, Glamorgan-Spring Bay, Sorell and Tasman Councils and the Tasmanian Government are preparing a strategic land use plan for the East Coast.  There are various community forums being held.  Council would encourage our community to have input to this important process.

NRM Committee Update

The Glamorgan Spring Bay / NRM South Catchments To Coasts team has been working closely with the Tasmanian Landcare Association in organising the State Landcare Awards and Conference to be held in Swansea on the 8th and 9th of November.  For more information see the attached registration form or contact Elle on 6256 5058.  The Little Swanport Catchment Management Plan Implementation Committee is a finalist for the Community Group Awards.  To vote for them in the People's Choice Award by going to http://www.tas.landcareheroes.com/  ·Once registered to vote, select Landcare Community Group Award and select the committee and vote away!  The winner will go to the National Landcare Awards in 2010.  Voting closes on Friday 6th November
